Data notice

What this data is

Ummah Directory is a list of professionals for the Ummah. Ummah Media Group runs it. An entry holds a name, a profession, a city and state, a practice name, a website and a short description. Some entries also hold languages, a photo with a credit, and a point on the map for the city. Being listed is not a statement about anyone's faith.

Where the entries come from

Most entries are built from a public page. That page can be the professional's own site, a professional association's page, or a professional directory. A few entries are built when someone who knows the professional recommends them. Each entry says which one it is, and links to the page it came from when there is one.

We do not ask the professional first. We take the description and the credentials from the source page, and we do not check them. The professional did not write the entry and may not know about it.

If an entry is about you, you can claim it for free or ask us to remove it. Both links are on the entry.

The facts about a person belong to that person. We do not claim them as ours. We claim only the compilation, which is our work of finding and arranging.

Reusing this data

You may read this directory and quote from it. When you reuse a part of it, name Ummah Directory and link to the page you took it from.

Do not copy the directory in bulk. Do not use it to send advertising or bulk messages to the people listed. Do not use it to harass anyone, or to pretend to be someone else.

This notice asks for attribution. It does not sell a licence to copy the directory in bulk.

Data from OpenStreetMap

The professional entries on this site are not built from OpenStreetMap. They come from the public pages named above. Some place data on Ummah Media Group sites does come from OpenStreetMap, and that data carries its own licence.

OpenStreetMap data is open. It is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Where we use it, we credit it like this:

In the live page, the words "OpenStreetMap" are a link to https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright. That page carries the licence and the list of sources OpenStreetMap itself credits.

The credit appears beside the map or the place data that uses it, not only on this page. If you reuse our map data, you carry the same credit and the same licence.

The version of this notice

This is version 1. It took effect on October 4, 2026. We change the version number and the date when the notice changes. A copy of our data that carries an older version date tells you roughly when that copy was taken.
